only minor hacks to this whole foods recipe. i added some lemon juice and served it warm so its especially good for cold vata.
combine 3 tbsp of MOLASSES or HONEY, 2 tbsp APPLE CIDER VINEGAR, a thumb of grated FRESH GINGER, the juice of a LEMON or LIME and 1 c of hot water. let the mixture steep until it cools, then strain reserving the liquid. add 1/4 of the switchel concentrate to 1 c hot water. makes 4 servings.
the MOLASSES is full of iron and extremely nutritive for vata who needs real nourishment. the VINEGAR, LEMON and GINGER are all digestive stimulants to stoke even the coldest stomachs.
